Introduction

Department of Political science, a major department of the Arts Facility has started in 2018 to impart single major course in Political science.  Since Inception the department in quite achieve in maintaining a harmonious balance between the staff and students of the department and inculcate civic culture and healthy political values in the mind of our students. The department of political science is one among the few departments of the college to produces more than 90% of result In B.A political science examination conducted by the Savitaribai Phule University Pune .

The Department along with its regular teaching achieves under takes various other co-curricular activates to sensitize    our students toward several socio- economic and political issues  confronted by the nation From time to time .All the activates of the Department are planned in such a manner to achieve the basic vision and mission of the college .  

Mission: The Department is striving to Inculcate civic values, political culture and subject knowledge among the students to ignite the young mind for achievement of a true and perfect democratic society, where    fraternity, secularism and justice will be the guiding force.

Vision: Young students are to be trained on philosophy of Indian democracy and the cultural values of the society, whereby they would bring  about a balance between the two without imitating the western world  .

Sincere effort to be made to simplify the complicated   terminology of politics to make if more intelligible for the students Highlights

• Celebration of various days like Human Rights Day, constitutional day, women’s day, voter’s day etc.

• Demonstrate an understanding of the concepts and principles of Political Science in the structures, institutions and processes of India and other nations.
• Apply the knowledge of the discipline, using technology as well as traditional methods to contemporary questions.
• To create the awareness among the students about Political problems of the society.
• Organize ideas and focus them effectively on the Political issues.

• The department is keenly interested to organize national level seminars in collaboration with any other related departments of this college or any other college in the near future.
• The department has plans to make students aware of sufficient computer knowledge and to get them in touch with the recent trends and developments of the world and thereby preparing them for different competitive examinations.
• The department will seek the participation of their students in the National Literacy mission. They would try to contribute in creating political awareness among the illiterate masses.
